Winter book for young readers.
This book includes 14 winter themed illustrations I did as a 3 months part-time project. It will be available for sale in December 2020 in Ukraine.
I used AI and my watercolor backgrounds and textures to complete the illustrations. The publisher gave me the freedom to create things my own way after the first illustration.
Really happy to accomplish this as my first ever illustration job. Anticipating to illustrate more books for children.

The name of the book is a portmanteau word made of 'verse' and 'snowflakes' coined by Liudmila Horova. The cover of the book is also the mix up of two illustrations. In one of the poems author compares snowflakes to landing forces of winter.
A boy writes a letter to Saint Nickolas to bring gifts to everyone in his family except himself. He wishes his grandfather had calmer neighbors, so he could be well-rested to play ball games with his grandkid.
Singing carols is a Christmas tradition in Ukraine. Usually kids go singing carols late in the evening with the bells and a star which is a part of another illustration in the book. The background should resemble a snowy winter evening and Christmas lights. This illustration completes the remake of the traditional 'Silent night' carol thus modernized carol singers. Backgrounds were sprayed with watercolors and scanned to be in illustrations.

Some pages in the book also include animals which were a ton of fun to draw.
Draft drawings were made by hand than traced and colored digitally. Some changes were made digitally after tracing.
Some pages have white elements, mostly for wishful things from the texts. Ukraine is in the state of war, so the page with the "Silent Night" has soldiers on it in white, who are giving stars for the child to play.
